Biography

The marriage of George Potter and Rachel Unknown is recorded in: "Genealogies of the Potter families and their descendants in America to the present generation" Author: Potter, Charles Edward

George and Rachel had some marital strife in 1699, resulting in her moving to Boston and giving some or their possessions to "her" children. An agreement written on 29 Dec. 1699 resolved the problems after both of them signed it. Two witnesses to the signing appeared before a justice of the peace in Boston, MA on 8 July 1700 to testify that they saw the signing. Their house and land was in Mashantatuck in Providence, RI.
