Biography

Judah Potter was born in Concord, Massachusetts about 1657, son of Luke and Mary (Edmunds) Potter. [1] [2]

He married Grace Brooks, on December 6, 1686. Grace was born March 10, 1660/1, the daughter of Deacon Joshua and Hannah (Mason) Brooks. [3] [1] [2]

He died on June 20, 1731, [1] when there dwelling burned. [3][2] [4]

In his will, written on March 25, 1728 and proved on July 12, 1731, he names: [5]

  • wife Grace
  • son Samuel Potter
  • son Luke Potter, in case he be restored to his right reason; Samuel to take care of him
  • son-in-law John Brown to take care of Luke Potter, should Samuel neglect to do so
  • should my sons neglect in his maintenance, then the Deacons of the church at Concord be referred to for resolution
  • daughter Sarah Wheeler
  • daughter Eunice Davis
  • daughter Hannah Davis
  • daughter Elizabeth Brown [5]

His widow Grace died April 20, 1752, at the age of 93. [3] [2]
