Biography
Charles Poulin was born on 28 Aug 1772 in St-Joseph, Beauce, the son of Joseph Poulin and Marie Angelique Rodrigue. He was baptised the next day with Charles Maheu (fils) and his aunt Marie Genevieve Poulin. None signed[1].
Charles Poulin, son of Joseph Poulin and Angelique Rodrigue, and Catherine Dupuis dite Gilbert, daughter of Charles Dupuis dit Gilbert and Charlotte Jobin, were married 13 Jan 1795 in the parish of Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce. Dispensation granted for 3rd degree consanguinity. Witnessed by father of the groom Joseph Poulin, Captain, the groom's brothers Joseph, Jean, and Pierre, his uncles Etienne Poulin and Charles Rodrigue, the bride's father Charles Gilbert, her brothers Joseph, Michel, Jean Baptiste, and Gervais Gilbert, her godfather Jean Baptiste Doyon, and several others. None signed[2].
At the given age of 97 Charles Poulin, farmer, widower of the late Catherine Gilbert, passed away on 22 Mar 1866 in Beauceville. He was buried 4 days later in the parish of St-François-d'Assise, as witnessed by Charles Poulin, Joseph Poulin, François Rodrigue, Damase Poulin, and many others. None signed[3].
