Biography

She is born in la Rivière des Rochers 26 Oct 1672, where she was also baptized by father Exupère Béthune, Récollet priest, on Nov 3rd of the same year. The record of such was kept at Notre-Dame de Québec.^[1] As far as can be determined. the modern-day name is Rivière aux Rochers, in the area of Port-Cartier, on the upper north coast of the St-Lawrence river.^[2]

Religious marriage act not found, notarized contract was on date entered for her marriage:

Contrat de mariage de Pierre Demers à Jeanne Pouillot (1er novembre 1691). (N° 4412.) Notaire Gilles Rageot (vol 4 page 250)^[3]

Marie Françoise, baptized 25 Dec 1692 at Sault de ? (illegible) in the church of St-François-de-Sales (record kept in Notre-Dame de Québec), at nearly 2 months of age; married Jean Baptiste Houde dit Desruisseaux on 30 Jan 1713 in St-Nicolas.

Pierre, married Marie Françoise Houde dite Desruisseaux 12 Aug 1726 in St-Antoine-de-Tilly; died 27 May 1740 in St-Antoine-de-Tilly, aged 40 per funeral record.(where his mother is listed as Marie Françoise Guildebourg)

Marie Jeanne, c 1696; married to Jacques Houde dit Desruisseaux before 1717; died 1749, aged 53

NOTE: There is a purported son attached, Jean Baptiste (Félix) du Mer, who died in 1715, aged 23 per funeral record. No family was named on his funeral record, but he was stated as being married.
