Biography

Terence Vincent Powderly, was born 22 January 1849 in Carbondale, Pennsylvania to Irish immigrants Terence and Madge (Walsh) Powderly. [1]Powderly was born the 11th of 12 children on January 22, 1849 to Irish parents who had come up from poverty, Terence Powderly and Madge Walsh, who had emigrated to the United States in 1827.[2]

Terence married 1st in 1872 to Hannah Dever.
