Biography

Lessie Powell died presumably from the influenza epidemic of 1918-1920 ^[1] a mere 2 days before her mother-in-law Samantha McDaniel, leaving behind a husband and infant daughter. Lessie's death certificate listed her primary cause of death as influenza and contributory or secondary causes as pneumonia and meningitis. ^[2]
