Biography

Sarah was born in 1813. She was the daughter of William Powell and Pamelia Wadleigh. She passed away in 1900. The following obituary appeared in the Waterloo Advertiser^[1]:

"Died at South Bolton, Quebec on the 27th of July 1900, Sarah Powell, Mrs. H. B. Noyes, aged 87 years, 2 months and 5 days. Mrs. Noyes was the widow of the late H. B. Noyes and daughter of William Powell and was one of a family of six daughters and one son. Three sisters survive her, the eldest being 94 and the youngest 82 years of age. Mrs. Noyes at the time of her death was the oldest person living in Bolton. Her own family consisted of three sons and six daughters, three of the latter still being alive, also two sons - J. P. Noyes joint prothonotary of Sweetsburg and A. H. Noyes of Newport, Vt. The funeral was held at South Bolton July 29th, her two sons and four grandchildren being present, also two of her sisters, Mrs. Hoskins and Mrs. Woodbury."
