Biography
Ann was born about 1810. She was the daughter of James Powele/Powell/Pouell and Isabella Davidson Birth Date: 24 Nov 1810 Baptism Date: 25 Nov 1810 Baptism Place: , Girvan, Ayr, Scotland Residence Date: 1810 Residence Place: Girvan, Ayrshire, Scotland Father: James Pouell Mother: Isobell Davidson. She marries James McKissock in 1833 in Girvan. [2]
She was recorded "Mary Ann McKissock", aged 37, when she and her family migrated to Australia on the 'Charlotte Jane' in 1852.[3]
Anne was granted the licence of the TamoShanter hotel after her husbands death. [4] She passed away about 1882. [5]
DEATHS. McKissock.— On the 19th August, at the residence of her son-in-law, Charles E. Hirst, chemist, Melbourne, Annie Powell, relict of the late James McKissock, of Ballarat, and formerly of Ayrshire, Scotland. MONDAY, 21st AUGUST, 1882. [6]
