Biography

Annie Powell died young.

Annie Powell was born in 1909 in St Helens, Lancashire. She was the daughter of Joseph Powell and Ann (Harrison) Powell. Her birth was registered in the second quarter of the year, in Prescot district.

By April 2nd 1911, the Powells were living with Annie's mother's family in St Helens. Annie's maternal grandfather Peter was working as a labourer. Her uncle John (26) was still unmarried and living with his parents, and had a job as a collier. Her uncle William Harrison, now nineteen, was also still single and with his parents, and working as a collier's drawer belowground - another name for waggoner. Annie's father was also working as a collier's drawer.

Annie's brother Peter was born in 1911 - his birth was registered in the final quarter of 1911, in Prescot district.

Annie died in 1917 aged eight. She was buried on October 6th 1917 with her paternal grandmother.
