Ezeriah was born about 1837, in Monroe Township, Perry, Ohio. He is the son of James Powell and Eliza Jane Latta. He passed away in 1864.
On August 13, 1862 at the age of 26 Isaiah (Ezeriah) enlisted as a private for three years term in the 30th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Company D of the Union Army in the Great War of Rebellion, i.e. The American Civil War. He was killed in action on July 3, 1864 in the Battle of Nickajack Creek in Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia.
