Kathryn was born about 1896 in Ohio. She was the daughter of Edward Thomas A. Powell (1850-1933, Virginia) and Mae (aka Mary) Wallace Gordon (1866 - , Ohio).

Kathryn m. 1st at Phoenix, Arizona to Carl Gordon Land, who died 1931; no record of children found to date.

Kathryn m. 2nd in 1932 to John Porter Davis. They are living in California in 1940. He is listed age 60, b. NY; she is listed age 44, b. Ohio.

No children listed although there is a possibility of a son Willard Davis Powell b. 23 Apr 1931 Madison, Kentucky. Willard married May Jean Jarvis and had William Davis Powell b. 1951, TX, who was the godson of Marion (Bitz) Davis and Norman Davis.
