Comparison of the three sources above leads to the conclusions:

  1. 2 and #5 must have died before 1820;
The 'Kennersley Castle' sailed from Bristol on 10 Jan 1820 - so the entries for #7, #8 and possibly #9 must be spurious. James Powell's Death Notice could decide this.
Another child, Abigail, was born in South Africa on 16 Mar 1823.
If the account of the two children named James is correct, the first of them, #6 must ahve died before 1822. Perhaps he died on the voyage, which may have led to his omission from Nash's list.
