Biography

Leonard Vere Wilson was born in 1896. He was the son of Henry Wilson Power and Frances Ethel Seacombe. He passed away in 1921.

Lance Corporal LVW Power served in the Army during WW1, with the Auckland Infantry Regiment -- service #52274. A clerk with LD Nathan before enlistment, he gave his Next of kin as Mrs F.E. Caton (mother), Hayden's Avenue, One Tree Hill, Auckland. He embarked 24 Jul 1917, arriving 25 September 1917 into Plymouth, Devon, England aboard HMNZT 89 the Waitemata, as a Private with the 28th Reinforcements, Auckland Infantry Regiment, A Company of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. He died after Discharge from Wounds Inflicted or Disease Contracted while on Active Service, and is buried at the Purewa Cemetery and Crematorium, Meadowbank, Auckland.
