Note: 2015: It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful death of Patrick Powers on Friday, November 13, 2015 in Gatineau, at the age of 84. Beloved husband of late Gilberte Noël Plouffe and son of late Mathew Powers and of late Margaret Way. He leaves behind his children: Linda (Martin), Jayne (Martyn) and Andrew; his grandchildren: Dean and Sophia. He also leaves his sisters: Eleanor (late Robert Toll), Doris (late Angus Maisonneuve), Beatrice (Gary Knuff), Marlene, Joan (Maurice Demers) and Marcella Awrey;. his sister-in-law Lucille Hall as well as many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his three sons: Reggie, Errol and Patrick; his two brothers: Cecil (Karen Brown) and Derick (Marlene Hamilton); his sister Sylvia (late Keith O'Brien);. his sisters-in-law: Thérèse (late Ernest Voyer) and Carmen (late Russell Nitschkie). After a 25 year career as an electrician at the CIP, he then embarked on a successful career in sales and service as the founding owner of Templeton Marine and Sport for eighteen years until his retirement. Patrick also had a passion for country music and was an accomplished musician who enjoyed sharing and playing music with family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing with family members and friends. A public viewing will be held on Monday November 23, 2015 at the Coopérative Funéraire de L'Outaouais, Gatineau. The celebration of prayers will be held the next day, Tuesday, November 24 at 10 a.m. at the same location. For those who wish to do so, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.[7]
