Mrs. Dorothy Allie Powers Gray, age 87 of Blackshear, died Tuesday afternoon (December 4, 2007) at Satilla Regional Medical Center (Ware County) following an extended illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband; David Gray, and her parents; Artis and Mammie Thornton Powers.

She was a lifelong resident of Pierce County, and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Blackshear.

She is survived by 2 half sisters; Frances (Ralph) Miller of Blackshear, Melinda (James) Childs of Jacksonville, a half brother; J.L. Powers of Blackshear, 5 cousins; Edgar Williamson of Blackshear, Travis (Metty) Bullard of Blackshear, Tracy (Sue) Powers of Blackshear, Shirley Powers of Blackshear, Frances Harper of Waycross, several nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday (December 6, 2007) at St. John's United Methodist Church Cemetery in Blackshear.
