Biography

Alice Lorraine Powers was born on 15 November 1888 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.^[1] She was the daughter of James Arthur Powers and Helena (Rhaesa) Powers.^[2]

Alice married Thomas Bell Soutar (1874-1963) on June 7, 1913, in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.^[3] The couple had no children.

They made their home in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.

In the 1920 census Alice (age 21) and Thomas (age 45) a Vice President of a Butter and Egg company, were living in Detroit Ward 14, Wayne, Michigan.^[4]

In the 1930 census Alice (age 41) and Thomas (age 55) were living in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, where Thomas was a Salesman for a Butter, Egg and Cheese company ^[5]

Thomas owned a Dairy product company in 1940, in Detroit.i^[6]

Alice (age 61) and Thomas-(age 75) were both Bookkeepers for a Wholesale Fruit Company in 1950.^[7]

Alice died at the age of 79 on April 12, 1968 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, United States of America.^[2] She was buried in the Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan,^[1]
