Millicent Powys was born in Southgate, Middlesex, England.

Millicent Caroline Powys was born on 4 August 1837 in Southgate, Middlesex, England. She was the daughter of Henry Philip Powys and Philippa Emma Cunliffe (Shawe) Powys. She was baptised on 26 September 1837 in Weld Chapel, Southgate, London.[1]

Residences In the 1841 census Millicent (age 3) was living in Whitchurch, Oxfordshire, England. Hardwick House.[2]

In the 1851 census Millicent (age 13) was living in Whitchurch, Oxfordshire, England. Hardwick House.Relationship: Daughter.[3]

In the 1861 census Millicent (age 23) was living in Wokingham, Berkshire, England. Shute End, 'The Beeches'.Relationship: Sister.[4]

Marriage

Millicent (full age), daughter of Henry Philip Powys, married William Townsend Henham, son of Thomas Henham, on 4 October 1870 in Winterslow, Wiltshire.[5]

In the 1881 census Millicent (age 43) was the wife of William T. Henham in The Vicarage, Streatley, Berkshire. Also living there at the time was William's nephew Thomas Ernest George Henham (10) who later became a well known author, he also published under the pseudonym of John Trevena. They had three servants.[6]

In the 1891 census Millicent (age 53) was living in Streatley, Berkshire, England. Relation to Head: Wife. [7]

In the 1901 census Millicent (age 63) was living in Wallingford St Peter, Berkshire, England. Relation to Head of House: Head.[8]

In the 1911 census Millicent (age 73) was living in St Peter and St Leonard, Berkshire, England. Marital Status: Widowed; Relation to Head: Head. [9]

Death and Burial

Millicent died at the age of 77 on 22 November 1914 in Wallingford, Berkshire, England. [10][11] Millicent was buried in St. Mary Churchyard, Streatley, Berkshire.[12] Probate:
28 January 1915 in London, England. ..of Bekesbourne Wallingford Bershire, widow, died 22 November 1914. Probate London 28 January to Thomas Ernest George Henham author. Effect £350 7s. 9d.
Thomas E.G. Henham was husband William's nephew who wrote under the pseudonym 'John Trevena'. [13] [11]
