There is some discrepancy regarding when Anton was born. One source lists 1820, [1] another 1814.[2] A third source lists his baptism as 1814, [3] supporting the earlier date. He died on 8 Dec in either 1884 or 1886.
According to a site on immigration from Lippe to the USA, [4] Anton immigrated on 8 Apr 1846, along with his brother, Frederich, aboard the ship Olbers, landed in New Orleans on 1 Jun 1846,, and had previously listed Missouri as his destination.
There are some inconsistencies in the data, as indicated. A review of the original church record will be necessary. [5]
A source [6] indicated that the Prött family was from a small village called Entrup, which is now a part of the city of Lemgo. Referenced is a site with a great deal of information about the area. [7] Site for church records. [8] Another site for the Prött family. [9]
It is not clear who Johann's mother was. FamilySearch (the site of the Mormons) lists Catharina Niewald, while Ancestry lists Amalia Eickmanns Prött. Pending further documentary evidence from original sources, Amalia was chosen arbitrarily as Johann's mother, while Catharina was chosen as his brother, Frederick's, mother.
