Biography

Mary was born October 19, 1859 although most sources list 1860 as her birth year. However the 1860 census information for their district was recorded July 6,1860^[1]. This means she must have been born the preceding October 1859.

For the 1870^[2] census Mary is shown as nine years old, so evidently there was an early adjustment to her birth year.

By 1900^[3] she is married and has several children of her own and living in Texas.

Spouse and Children

Mary married William Blakely Harris on 1 Nov 1878 ^[4] in Washington County, Arkansas. The couple were the parents of five children per the 1900 census^[3].

Death

Mary was a widow in 1940^[5] living with her son Ollie. Her death December 16, 1949^[6] is recorded as "myocardial depression" or slow/weak heart function.
