Amanda was born about 1839 in White, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Josiah Prater and Sarah Harpole. In Aug, 1856 she married Samuel H Dodson and went on to have 6 children. She died in August of 1879 of malaria, while they were living in Dekalb Co. Her unknown grave site is probably there, in what was District 6 of Dekalb.
She passed away in 1879.
