Sarah Elizabeth Prater was born ca 1797 in Floyd Co., Kentucky to Archibald Prater and Sarah Martha Fugate.[citation needed]
She married David Picklesimer 15 April 1817 in Floyd County, Kentucky[1] and they were parents to several children.
Sara died ca 1882 in Magoffin Co., Kentucky.[citation needed]
Land Records
On 15 February 1834, John PRATER, William PRATER, Elijah PRATER, Archibald PRATER, Sally P. SIMORE, William PATRICK, Hugh PATRICK and David M. COOPER sold 35 acres on Licking Creek in Floyd County, Kentucky to Lewis POWER for $255.[2] This was taken from a typed copy and it is believed that the Sally P. SIMORE was actually Sarah PICKLESIMER.
Court Cases:
In May of 1842, Sarah PICKLESIMER was sued by Thomas MANNS, the assignee of William MANNS, and the court ordered Sarah PICKLESIMER to pay him $100.[3]
In the May term of 1842, Sarah PICKLESIMER placed a plea against the administrator of the Estate of Samuel MANNS.[4] Also on that page was a case of Thomas MANNS vs. Sarah PICKLESIMER wherein Sarah entered her 1st and 2nd plea to set aside a judgement against her.
On the 4th day of the May term of 1842, the case of Sarah P SIMER vs the administrator of Samuel MANNS estate (Solomon C. STRATTON) was given a verdict by the jury in favor of the administrator of Samuel MANNS estate.[5] Sarah's case was also heard on this matter on 5th day of the November term of 1842,[6] the 3rd day of the May term 1843,[7] the 4th day of the October term 1844,[8] the 3rd day of the April 1845 term[9] and the 6th day of the April 1845 term[10]

On 10 October 1844 in Floyd County, Kentucky, Hendly FLETCHER [also seen on this document as Henly] and Nancy P. SIMER were married with the permission of the groom's father, George FLETCHER, and the bride's mother, Sarah P. SIMER.[11]
The 1850 census record of the household of Henley FLETCHER in Floyd County, Kentucky[12] contains Nancy FLETCHER, age 24 years. This would mean that Nancy was born about 1826.
Son, Alfred P. SIMER married on 6 January 1858 in Floyd County, Kentucky to Mary MCNEW.[13]
