James Prather was age 20 to 29 in the 1840 census and resided in Montgomery County, Kentucky.[1]
At present there are no documented sources for the children of this man.
A comment from early family researcher Bill Prather mentioned several of the Prathers moved to Vermilion Co., IL 1830 to 1840 purchasing land on the Illinois/Indiana state line. James may have been among them. James' brother Jonathan made a trip back to KY in 1834 and it was said he went to settle an estate.
