Biography

Sarah Pratt, daughter of Oliver and Sarah (Willard) Pratt, was born about 1740[1][2] in Newton, Massachusetts.

Sarah married Ezra Parker on 8 May 1755 in Newton.[3]

10 March 1769 -- Sarah Pratt, widow, Ezra Parker, yeoman, and Sarah, his wife, Jeremiah Pratt, blacksmith. Henry Pratt, housewright, all of Newton, Noah Pratt, housewright of Wrentham, Oliver Mills, yeoman of Needham, and wife, Sybel, to Ephraim Jackson, gentleman of Newton, £79 lawful money, the southwesterly end of the old part (so-called) of the dwelling house now in the possession of said Ephraim Jackson, which was set off to the late widow Hannah Pratt as part of her thirds in the estate of her deceased husband. Also one half part of the building lately improved as a grist mill standing in Newton, with half the land and half the stream thereunto belonging, and half of all the other privileges and appurtenances thereof, except & hereby prohibiting the said building being ever hereafter made use of or improved as a grist mill, and that the said Ephraim or his heirs or assigns shall not have a right to erect or set up a grist mill on said fream, but shall be forever hereafter debarred therefrom. And we do also convey to Ephraim a 15 and a half acre tract in Needham bounded by Capt. Lemuel Pratt's orchard, Ezra Pratt, Sarah Pratt aforesaid, Samuel Wheaton, Weston Road. Wits: Joseph Wetherell, Luke Mills.[4]

This deed is a set of heirs of Sarah's grandparents, Henry and Hannah (Wilson) Pratt disposing of some of their property. Her mother, widow Sarah, is one of the sellers because she was guardian to Sarah (Pratt) Parker's two youngest siblings.

Sarah and Ezra, along with a few of her siblings, removed to Winchester, New Hampshire.

30 December 1773 -- Josiah WIllard, Esq. of Winchester, New Hampshire to Ezra Parker of Newtown, Massachusetts, £134 lawful money, 50 acres in WInchester, house lot no. 33, except about one acre conveyed to Thomas Byam & also the southwesterly half of 34, both of sd. lots are bounded in the proprietors' books.
