Research Notes

FIRST: The ONLY reason I worked on this is because it was presented as an "Orphan Profile". I opted to do my routine Sunday volunteer duty and tackle the first listed. Now, after finishing the sleuthing and work on this profile, I find that it was not an orphan. Not sure why this would be managed and orphaned at the same time. My apologies to the manager. I left my work but will not be following this profile or the family branch as I am not related in any way.

NAME: Was his original given name Francois Célestin Prégent?

I personally feel that his accurate original birth name was Francois Célestin Prégent (all other versions being aka or other)
If so ... correction of his first given name and middle name and surname may need correcting. He can only have one accurate original birth name. What was it? I don't know. I'm leaving this up to anyone that can read French and review the image of his birth/baptism record (link provided below) and/or the manager to handle. See top research note.

BIRTH; Born 10 or 11 Sep 1807. Sources show discrepancy

Does the script in this image of this Châteauguay>St-Joachim Birth/Baptism say the day is Dix (10) or Onze (11)?
[2]
I can not speak or read French, but I also cannot begin to read what this record says because of the quality. Maybe someone with better eyes and an understanding of French could check this out AND enter into this bio, any additional information that it might have regarding relationships or names.

BAPTISM: 11 Sep 1807

CHILDREN: Marguerite Prégent and Joseph Prégent

Both need profiles and subsequent linking to this profile. I've bracketed to highlight the need for profiles needed.

They should get merged; however it may be that neither surname is spelled accurately as an original birth name. May call for correction of the name on both profiles, before attempting to merge. See research notes.

Pregent-51 and Prejean-10 appear to represent the same person because: these two are the same, let's merge them !
