Abraham Prejan was born 9 Feb 1741. He was the son of Joseph Prejean and Marie Comeau. He was baptized 18 June 1741 at Beaubassin. His godparents were Francois Commau and Marie Joseph Saunier. All are inhabitants of Chipoudy.[1][2]
Abraham PREJEAN (born 1741), son of Joseph II (born 1700), according to a conversation with Carl BRASSEAUX, was a pirate. The Governor of the Louisiana Territory asked [his brother] Basile PREJEAN in 1785 for a deposition concerning Abraham's activities during this period of the Revolution. Pirates were capturing English cargo and selling it in Spanish ports, while Spain was allied with the colonies against England, formally declaring war in 1787 [?]. Abraham finally met his demise while attacking two Royal Navy British frigates in the Carribbean, last seen on deck covered with blood.[3][4][5]
