Hi David,

Since you manage a number of Prentice profiles I invite you to check-out the new One Name Study for the Prentice surname. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Prentice_Name_Study

Hi David, just wanted to thank you for the information you added to Phebe (Prentice) Hewitt's profile and to let you know that I had to change it a little bit so the FindAGrave reference for her father wouldn't cause a Data Base error. Everything is still there, just reworded a smidge with the preferred inline citation. Thank you again.

David, I did just get an email saying we were both descended from Alfred Belcher Prentice and Catherine Simons. Is this the email you were referring to?

David, Still no email as of 4/25 at 2pm EST. Did you use nlpakkala at aol.com?

No email from you yet David except the one that said I would be getting an email. Maybe later today.

Hi David, I was just entering Elizabeth Prentice to my tree and your Elizabeth Prentice came up as a match. Elizabeth is my GGGM thru Imogene Freeland Howard and William Rennals Howard. My grandmother was Mettie Iva Howard who married George O. Keith whose daughter Jessie was my mother. I'm not sure what I need to do next. Any help would be appreciated. I have not gone back to check and see what happened after I entered her name. Nancy Hulbert Pakkala

Hi Nancy,

I don't have a saved email sent to you so I am afraid this might have gotten lost. I see your GGGM Imogene Louisa Freeland (family search ID KJPF-5CX) and her husband William Reynolds (or Rennals) Howard, FSID K48D-N86, in my tree. You grandmother Mettie is FSID LYZ5-Y61 and grandfather George is FSID LYZR-ZQY. I have your parents as Jessie, FSID LYZ5-TBK and Harry, FSID MCCZ-QD2. Then your husband shows as G95C-RXT and you as G9PN-6R6. Family Search has his last name as Pakkala, but two of the children as Takkala. I assume the children's names should be Pakkala, right?

Hi David, Guess I haven't looked at this lately and didn't realize you had asked a question of me. Yes Takkala should be Pakkala! Thanks for pointing that out. Where does the time go? I can't seem to find extra time to work on Wiki tree and other genealogy programs.

Hi David, re Honoria Maley and Honoria Maley Lewis. They are certainly not the same person: your Honoria Maley Lewis (born Maley, married Lewis) was in Boston, and the Honoria who married Anthony Maley (her married name) died in Derbyshire, England. Neither Honoria nor Maley are particularly uncommon names, but may be difficult to find in records as there are so many variants for both that might be used by the same person - a person named Honoria might use Honor, O'nora, Nora, or sometimes even Ann or Anna. The surname is equally varied - Maley could also be recorded as Malley, Maylia, Melley, Mellia, Mallia, O'Malley, and the gaelic O' Maoileoin. Keep searching for your Honoria - I am sure you will find her somewhere, sometime.

Hi David,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hello David,

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here.
