John probably had more than one wife, and more than two children. His neighbor was Dunning Casiah in Kershaw South Carolina. Dunning had 3 daughters, Mary (Polly) married Charles Presley, brother of John, Elizabeth married Enoch Smith, one is Unknown. It is a possibility John married a Casiah, and named his first born Dunning John Presley.
John served in the Revolutionary War. 1779-1780. PROBABLY LIVING IN ANSON COUNTY NORTH CAROLINA, BEFORE SERVICE. LIVED FOR SEVERAL YEARS (6) IN KERSHAW SOUTH CAROLINA AROUND 1790. MOVED TO MECKLENBURG COUNTY NORTH CAROLINA. MOVED TO MONROE COUNTY TENNESSEE AROUND 1830.

RICHARD PRESLEY SERVED IN THE FIRST SEMINOLE WAR 1812-1819. HE LISTED HIS FATHER AS JOHN PRESLEY AND HIS MOTHER AS ELIZABETH. HE NAMED HIS OLDEST SON JOHN. WHEN JOHN GOT OLDER HE WANTED TO MOVE NEAR HIS CHILDREN.
