MARIE BRIDGET PREST married RONALD THOMAS CONNELLAN in 1940 in WEST WYALONG. ^[1]

West Wyalong. The marriage of two popular young people of West Wyalong took place in St. Mary's Church on the 14th ult. at Nuptial Mass celebrated by the Rev. Father P. P. O'Doherty, P.P., when Marie Bridget (Maisie), second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Prest, was married to Ronald Thomas Connellan, second son of Mrs. Connellan and the late Mr. Connellan. The bride was frocked in off-white angel satin cut on tailored lines, the only adornment being a 50-years-old brooch belonging to her grandmother, consisting of three small nuggets of gold in their natural state. Miss Una Prest attended her sister as bridesmaid. She wore a Victorian model of envoy green mist crepe over green satin. Mr. Don Histon attended the bridegroom. The choir sang the Mass of the Blessed Sacrament,' whilst at the Offertory Miss Kathleen Simpson, of Murrumburrah, sang Rosewig's 'Ave Maria.' Mr. Jack Kearns sang at the signing of the register and Mrs. R. J. Simpson played the 'Bridal' and 'Wedding' marches. After the ceremony about 70 relatives and friends were received by Mrs. Prest, mother of the bride, assisted by Mrs. Connellan, mother of the bridegroom. Mrs. Haughey, grand-aunt of the bride, travelled especially from Sydney to attend the wedding. Father O'Doherty presided at the breakfast, where the usual toasts were honoured. Later the happy couple left by car for a tour of Melbourne and the south. The future home of Mr. and Mrs Connellan will be at West Wyalong. Diocese of Goulburn (1941, January 16).
