Ephraim Preston was born on 09 Sep 1876^[1] in Macdonald River, New South Wales, Australia as the second child of George Preston and Mary Sternbeck. He had ten siblings, namely: Agnes, Rebecca, Hannah, Mary, Helena, Arthur, Augustus, Prosper, George, and Hercules. He died on 22 Aug 1952^[2] in Nambour, Queensland, Australia. When he was 31, he married Etta Ellen Patterson,daughter of Thomas Patterson and Martha Connor, on 24 Jun 1908^[3] in Grafton, New South Wales, Australia.

Ephraim Preston and Etta Ellen Patterson had the following children:

• Lyall Hilton Preston was born on 01 Feb 1909 in Cowper, New South Wales, Australia. He died on 23 Aug 1993 in Nambour, Queensland, Australia. He married Imbi Idea Marie Makkonen on 21 Feb 1933 in Nambour, Queensland, Australia.
• Lurline Beulah Preston was born on 06 Jun 1910 in Ulmarra, New South Wales, Australia. She died on 08 Aug 1989 in Nambour, Queensland, Australia. She married Carl Christian Duhs on 06 Jun 1936 in Nambour, Queensland, Australia.
