Jim was born and lived most of his life in Stratford; however, he and Florence did live in Montreal from 1915 to 1926. He worked for the Grand Trunk Railway early in his life in Stratford.
During their time in Montreal Jim was in partnership with his cousin Ed Gilbride to make munitions during the war; he was manager of the of the Spartan Machine Co.[1]
Jim and his wife are buried in Avondale Cemetery, Stratford.[2]
