Biography
Michael (Prewitt) Pruitt is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A091959.
Michael (Prewitt) Pruitt performed Patriotic Service in the American Revolution.
When Michael Pruitt was born in 1720 in Henrico, Virginia, his father, Andrew, was 25 and his mother, Agnes, was 21.
He married Elizabeth Simpkins in 1742 in Varina, Virginia. They had ten children in 24 years. Elizabeth passed away before 10 Mar 1778.
Michael married a second wife, Mary Thurston, on 10 Mar 1778 in Halifax, Virginia.[1]
Michael was living in Halifax Co, VA, in 1782.[2]
Michael provided Patriotic Service during the American Revolution, by rendering material aid.[3] Specifically, he provided Bacon & 3 cattle to Gen Greene's army 1783 and much more to Gen Green's army in March 1782.[4]
He died on 4 Apr 1798 in Shelby City, Kentucky, having lived a long life of 78 years.
