Hershall - you've completely changed an entire family, but it seems only one of the sons and the father. I need to restore these profiles. Please create new ones for the "New information found on other sites". Changing an existing profile to be someone else is not the way to go.

Thanks!

Hi Hershel,

Thank you for adding pre-1700 profiles to our Global Tree, it is much appreciated :)

I notice that you have Ancestry Tree Profile as the only source for a couple of profiles you recently added. This unfortunately is not acceptable for pre-1700 profiles.

I would like to suggest that you collaborate with the Scotland Project which can be found here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Scotland. They will be happy to advise you where to find primary sources for your profiles.

Thank you and happy researching :)

Hi Hershel,

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.

It looks like US History Project would be a good fit with the tag you entered. Adding the tag United_States_History will help you get updates about activity for that project.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

My husband has some Prices in and around Shannon County, Missouri starting in the late 1800s. He tested through 23andMe, and we ("we" meaning "I") have uploaded his results to GEDmatch, MyHeritage, and FamilyTreeDNA. Have you got test results on any of those? I haven't been able to figure out the Price line beyond his GG Grandparents, Joe and Laura Price. I would be interested to see if there's a DNA connection.

Auriette

Hello Ms. Lindsey,

Sorry it's been a long time since I responded to your question about possible Price's in Shannon County, Missouri. Since that time, I've had to back track a lot of my researches. Hopefully, it's a little more accurate now. At that time (2018), I was just getting started and didn't know what GEDmatch, Myheritage and FTDNA were and now am a member of all three. My GEDmatch number is A790415. My FTDNA # is 891211 and have done the Big Y there with some results.

It turns out that the possibility of a Price connection in the 1800's is yes, but I can not say for sure. James Napoleon Price may have been Jessie Price's (my grandfather) father, and It makes sense that he would have been in southeast Missouri as that is where my family is from. There is information that he lived in Clay Missouri, Dunklin County, in the mid 1800's. But there is conflicting information that says that he was in Clay Co. Missouri at that time. Clay county is up close to Kansas City. He is supposedly buried in Marion Twp, Newton, Missouri, which I believe to be in southwest Missouri. A straight line between southeast and southwest Missouri goes through Shannon county.

Also, I searched the Lindsey name on Myheritage and found a John Lindsey with a triangulation match with my known 2nd cousin Debrie Ivey and me. I am wondering if he may be your husband? If so there could be another piece in the Price puzzle. Again, I am sorry for the long time between response. I was just back tracking and found this info today.

Thanks again, Hershel Price
