Biography

Sarah, daughter of Samuel Price and Margaret Black, was born on 17 Jun 1775 at Greenbrier County, VA.^[1] She died on 17 Sep 1860 at Callaway County, MO, and was buried in Concord Cemetery there.^[2]

Sarah's obituary dated 26 Oct 1860 said: "Bright: Died at the residence of Mr. Washington Bright in Callaway County, Mo., on the 17th ult., Mrs. Sally Bright. Mrs. B. was born at Cloverdale, Bath County, Va., the 17th June 1780, be at the time of her death, eight years [probably eighty], and three months of age."^[3]

She married Michael BRIGHT on 6 Mar 1795 at Greenbrier County, VA; children (surname BRIGHT):^[4][5] They had at least 10 children based on Michael's will and census records.^[6]

• The 1860 census of Liberty Twp., Callaway County, MO, listed Sarah Bright (86, b. VA) living with her son Washington Bright (41, farmer, $2000 real estate, b. VA), his wife Ester (41, b. VA) and their children James W (17, b. MO), Frances (13, b. MO), George (11, b. MO), Robt. (9, b. MO), and Sarah E (6, b. MO).^[8]
