Biography

Catherine Hannah Price was born in 1752 in Pennsylvania, the second or third oldest of seven or eight known children and the oldest or second oldest of three or four daughters of Johan and Mary Stoner Preisz.

Hannah was "a rarely beautiful woman, with large blue eyes, fair and rosy complexion, hair like corn silk, and a tall, rounded and graceful body."

The Berty Stover biography further states that she "was indeed a queenly woman of gentle manners and brilliant mind."

In 1771, when she was in her late teens, she married Johann Stover. She bore him eleven children, five sons and six daughters:

  1. Elizabeth Stover
  2. John Stover
  3. George Stover
  4. Jacob Stover
  5. Susan Stover
  6. Mary Stover
  7. Daniel Stover
  8. Catherine Stover
  9. Hannah Stover
  10. Abraham Stover
  11. Infant [daughter] Stover

In 1792, when she was about forty, she died in Botetourt County, Virginia], of unknown causes (but probably from complications of childbirth).
