Green married Kate Melvin (born on April 29, 1864 in LaRue, Kentucky; daughter of Nathan Lucius Melvin and Elizabeth (Gollaher) Melvin). Their daughter was Fannie Elizabeth Price (1888–1964).
Green died on May 5, 1913 in LaRue, Kentucky, aged 56.
