Samuel Bowles was a son who appears on various documents with his mother after his father died in 1787, including this (available behind paywall: https://www.ancestry.ca/mediaui-viewer/tree/19441640/person/802775965/media/eaa5d504-d6a9-41fd-a616-8f75ce585d31?_phsrc=FmH375&_phstart=successSource) which clearly identifies her as Eleanor Bowles widow and relict of Thomas Bowles in 1799.
