Biography

Ian was born in 1957. He was the son of Floyd Price and Elizabeth Smith. Ian married Leslie Chapman and they had 4 children. Ian died on his Mother's birth date, July 1, 2017. Following is the wonderful tribute given to Ian as written by his sister Heather: "Hi Just wanted to let you know how the visitation went for Ian. What a wonderful tribute!! The doors opened at five and was to end at eight. There was a steady stream of folks until 8:30. I quickly went through the quest book and counted 275 signatures. It was so unbelievable the out pouring of love and the stories many told about their relationship over the years with Ian. Many years ago when his boys were young he was a cub and scout leader. Many of these boys, now men came with their families. Leslie, Amanda, Jeff and Rebecca were awesome throughout the night. Tears flowing but the love was just wonderful!! Very moving for me and Richard who also stood in the family line to greet folks. Dave and I stayed at a hotel Thursday evening then met the family for brunch the next day before we left for home. Leslie will continue to live with Amanda and the children will look after her very well. The celebration of life be August 12 at Amanda home. This was going to be a surprise birthday party for Ian, 60th birthday. We are going to be there as will be all the Price family. We are hoping Cindy and Aunt Joan will be able to attend. If there are other Price relatives who would like to attend I hope you will pass along Amanda contact information. Michelle and Lauren flew out from BC and arrive in Stratford early Saturday morning. I spoke with Michelle this am and she said Ian passed very peacefully and not in pain. I was very relieved as when we saw him in the hospital Friday evening he was struggling to breath and it was very upsetting for all. We were able to get lots of red noses and Rebecca had them all over the visitation room Thursday evening. Ian always had a red nose in his pocket to cheer up folks, which it did. I also spoke with Aunt Hattie this morning as well. She like all of us are still in shock. She was going to call Leslie and I know Leslie will be pleased to hear rom her. Keep well. Love to all Heather'

Remarks from his cousin Linda Joy Smith: "Ian had very bad diabetes like his sister Bev and his brother Richard. I do not think he drank, it was the diabetes. He has had a very rough time for quite awhile now, so now he is at peace and free from all his problems.'
