Biography

Born on 6 August 1535 Gregory Price was the eldest son of John Price of Hereford and his wife, Joan Williams, daughter of John Williams alias Cromwell of Southwark in Surrey. He succeeded his father to considerable estates in Herefordshire and Wales in 1555. Gregory was returned to Parliament in 1558 as member for Herefordshire. By November 1559 he was married to Mary Coningsby of Hampton Court in Herefordshire. Together they had one son. In 1572 he was returned as member for Hereford which he continued to represent until 1597.

By 1598 he was married to Grissel Roberts daughter of Walter Roberts of Glassenbury in Kent, widow of Gervase Gebons. They had a daughter. Gregory also had two illegitimate sons and a daughter by Beatrice Evesham.

Gregory died on 19 March 1600.
