Vera Price was born in England and lived there until a year after meeting a handsome American B-17 bombardier/navigator, Duward Bare. The two married, lived in England a year where the first of their two children was born, then moved to Riverdale, Illinois where their second child was born. Later in her life, Duward and Vera moved to a home in Lynwood, Illinois on Lake Lynwood.
Vera loved her family and was often a homeroom mother for her children's classes. She loved to bake, sew, knit and crochet. She was also a skilled artisan making beautiful stained glass pieces.
Vera's home was always filled with barking and frolicking dogs. After retiring as a secretary, she worked tirelessly on behalf of those dogs whose lives were not as happy as her own when she did rescue and adoption work for the South Suburban Humane Society.
Vera passed very suddenly on Wednesday, June 5, 1996, at the age of 70. She is buried with her husband in a cemetery in Homewood,Illinois.
