Biography

THOUGHTS: This is a confusing ancestral line. The parents of Elizabeth Range? Priddy are Richard Priddy Sr. and Judith Elizabeth Forrest. The "Range" name is not on any known document, nor her marriage record. The Forrest name is even picked up in a future Russell line for Marlene Forrest Russell of Tennessee. I suspect the Range family and the Priddy family are somehow interconnected, but not as the parents of Elizabeth nor her husband Jacob Miller. This family started in Halifax VA and moved to Jefferson,TN. Some of the members branching further with their own families of course. For example, Elizabeth's mom Judith ended up living with her daughter Celia's family (the Terrys) in Mississippi.

This family does not appear to be the Jacob Miller who married Elizabeth Range near Leesburg, Washington County, TN. The Washington County Elizabeth Range was born in 1777 and had ten children with Jacob Miller in Washington County. Jacob died and was buried in Washington County, TN. The Jacob Miller of this profile married 1804 in Jefferson County, Tennessee, to Elizabeth Priddy per marriage record image. They both died Jefferson, Tennessee.

Elizabeth Priddy Miller's birth family included her dad in the Revolutionary War and her brother Thomas in the War of 1812 (at age 16!). Her sister Fannie's husband built the first jail in his town and I wonder if it was due to imminent need or community planning.

I am listing only one child for Jacob and Elizabeth and that is Rohada Miller who began the Brimer line to Marlene Forrest Russell. None of the others seemed to fit as possibilities even when touted on other lineages as such. I am quite meticulous, so if I am wrong, show me how and why. Per Donna Cator
