Biography

Joseph Priest was born around 1645/46 probably in Weymouth, Massachusetts. He moved to Boston. In January 1674 his father gave him half of his Boston house. About that time Joseph married Hannah Hagar. They had at least three children, one in Watertown in 1675 and two in Boston, 1678 and Hannah 1680/81. He died in Boston in 1697.

Joseph was with Capt. Daniel Henchman by 14 September 1675 and with Capt. William Tumer. Soldiers in King Phillips War ( 1675-1667 ) were promised land grants. Joseph's was in Narragansett (later Westminister). We don't know that he moved there.

(He is not in Weymouth Vital Records though they cover the 1640s.)

Priest-1626 and Priest-1492 appear to represent the same person because: Sorry, 1492 didn't appear when I created 1626. Same person.
