Martin was born Martin George Turner Priest on the 30th of March, 1888, in New Zealand, the 3rd of 8 children of Martin Bruce Hay Priest and [[Sinclair-2950|Jessie Ursula Sinclair.[1]
At 28, in 1916, he married Isabella Jane Robb in New Zealand, and they had 2 daughters.[2]
At 81, in 1969, he died, possibly in Thames, and was buried in the Totara Memorial Park, Thames, NZ Public Area 105 plot 12[3]
