Biography

Josiah Priest was born in Watertown in 1706. In 1727 he married Mary Bemis in Weston (though both lived in Watertown); they had four (six?) children born 1731-1734. She died in 1738. In 1738/39 he married Mary Brown of Concord; they had ten children born in Waltham 1739-1761 and two in Groton 1762-1765.

Footnote

The birthplace the first child of Josiah's second marriage, Josiah, has not been ascertained. Groton has been claimed. Waltham is likely.

For Josiah Sr.'s death Groton seems likely but no record appears.
