Biography

Caroline Henrietta Priester was born on September 26, 1857 in Clarion County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Philipp Charles Priester and Anna Elizabeth Hellwig. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

The 1860 Federal Census, taken July 24th, listed Caroline, age 2, as living with her parents P. Charles and Elizabeth and her brother Lewis in Madison Township, Clarion, Pennsylvania. ^[4]

The 1870 Federal Census, taken August 8th, listed Caroline, age 13, as living with her parents P. Charles and Elizabeth and her brothers Lewis, Charles and Jacob and her sisters Mary, Kate and Hannah in Madison Township, Clarion, Pennsylvania. ^[5]

Caroline H. Priester married Karl "Charles" John (Hartmann) Hartman, Sr. prior to June 1880. ^[6] (Note: The marriage might have occurred on August 10, 1879 in Toledo, Lucas, Ohio. ^[7]

The 1880 Federal Census, taken June 5th, listed Caroline, age 22, as living with her husband Charles on Oliver Street in Toledo, Lucas, Ohio. ^[8]

Caroline gave birth to her daughter Charlotte "Lottie" Philopena on March 15, 1884 in Toledo, Lucas, Ohio, ^[9]

Caroline gave birth to her son Charles John Henry, Jr. on January 26, 1886 in Toledo, Lucas, Ohio, ^[10]

Caroline passed away on October 22, 1887 probably in Toledo, Lucas, Ohio at age 30. She was buried in Alcola Trinity Cemetery in Alcola, Clarion, Pennsylvania. ^{[11] [12]}
