Marie Josephte was born on 15 November 1793 in Châteauguay, Bas-Canada. Born to Jean Louis Primeau and Marie Lacroix, she was baptised on the same day at the local church, Saint-Joachim. Her godparents were Pierre Primeau and Marie Josephte Madore. [1]
Transcription of the baptism act: "Le quinzieme de 9bre [novembre] l'an mil sept cent quatre vingt treize, par nous a été baptisée Marie Josephte née de ce jour du légitime mariage de Jean Louis Primo, & de Marie Lacroix; le parain Pierre Primo & la mareine Ma Josephte Madore qui n'ont su signer de ce requis, le pere present."

She married Pierre Pitre (Joseph, Madeleine Couillard) on 14 February 1814 at Saint-Joachim church in Châteauguay. [2]
Transcription of the marriage act: "Le quatorzième de février l'an mil-huit-cent-quatorze, après trois publication de bans aux messes paroissiales entre Pierre Pitre, fils mineur de Joseph Pitre laboureur et de Magdeleine Couillard, ses pere et mere de cette paroisse d'une part; et Josephte Primo, fille mineure de Jean Primo laboureur, et de défunte Marie Lacroix, ses pere et mere de cette paroisse d'autre part; Nous soussigné de l'accord des parens avons reçu leur mutuel consentement, sans autre empêchement que celui du quatrième degré de parenté, dont les parties ont obtenue dispense de Messire Roux Vicaire général et leur avons donné la bénédiction nuptiale en présence de Joseph Pitre pere de l'epoux, de Jean-Louis Primo pere de l'épouse qui n'ont sû signer de ce requis."

She died on 30 April 1882 in Beauharnois. Her burial took place on 2 May 1882 at the Saint-Clément cemetery. [3]
Transcription of the burial act: "Ce deux mai, mil huit cent quatre vingt-deux, nous Pretre, cure, soussigne, avons inhumé dans le cimetiere de cette paroisse le corps de Josephte Primeau, décédée avant hier, agee de quatre vingt deux ans, épouse de defunt Pierre Pitre dit Lajambe, en son vivant de cette paroisse. Presents Paul Leboeuf et Joseph Goyette, cultivateurs de cette paroisse qui n'ont su signer."
