Biography
Marie Delphine Prince was born and baptized on 1 Apr 1863 in Saint-Eusèbe parish in Princeville, Stanfold, Arthabaska, Canada East. She was the daughter of Pierre Prince, faermer, and Esther Corriveau of this parish. Sponsors at Delphine's baptism were François Xavier Pratte and Hermine Prince; both sponsors and the father signed the register.
Marriage record listed parents as Pierre R. Prince and Esther Pouweax, birthplace as Stanfold, Canada. Mother's surname was actually Corriveau.
Immigration was in 1875 based on 1920 Census data.
1880 Census shows her as age 17 living in Assumption, Christian, IL with parents Peter R. & Hester, brother John and sisters Josephine, Jennie & Cordine.
1900 Census shows her as age 36 living on Water St, Kankakee Ward 6, Kankakee, IL with husband Charles, sons Henry & Oscar; and daughters Jennie, Victoria, Amelia & Mary. Married 17 years, had 11 children, 6 still living.
1910 Census shows her as age 47 living at 119 Poplar St, Kankakee Ward 6, Kankakee, IL with husband Charlie, daughter Mary and sons Oscar, Walter & Harry. Married 28 years, had 13 children, 6 still living.
1920 Census shows her as age 54 living at 584 Nelson Ave, Kankakee Ward 6, Kankakee, IL with husband Charlie, son Walter, and grandchildren Harry & Marie Goble.
1922 Kankakee City Directory shows Charles & Delia living at 303 N. 8th Ave.
Delphine died at age 65 on 26 Feb 1928 in Kankakee, Kankakee, Illinois; she was buried in Saint Rose Cemetery in Kankakee.
