Biography
Dods was born in 1916. He is the son of William Pringle and Frederika Coetzee.
There was a Dodds Stewart Pringle b. 13 Feb 1889 at Kimberley and baptised on 12 Sep 1889. (Methodist); but the parents are listed as William and Susanna Elizabeth Pringle. [McArthur-306 : 11 Dec 2016]http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/SOUTH-AFRICA-IMMIGRANTS-BRITISH/2003-11/1068442551
There may be some doubt about the dates for William Pringle and his children. According to the approximate dates in Heese, William (b. c. 1861) would have been 55 years old when his first child Dods was born in 1916.
This was corrected after reference to the 1820 settlers' website.
Dods was married four times and had nineteen children. One source gives his fourth wife as Rachel Sophia du Plessis, but the only record I have been able to find to confirm this is www.identitynumber.org which shows a Rachel Sophia Pringle b. 1912.
