Biography

In 1628 George Pringle, brother of James of Buckholm, married Mary Lauder (her second husband) promising to invest for her 4000 merks in land for an annual rent.

A sasine registered 21st January 1629, mentions Agnes (sic) Lauder relict of George Greir, Minister at Haddington, and spouse of George Pringle, brother of James Pringle of Buckholme.[1] Another sasine registered on 1st April 1635 states that George is a Burgess of Haddington.[2]

In 1635 George & Mary bought a tenement of land in Haddington. In 1636, George designed 'in Harpendean', appears as Sheriff-depute of the county, and along with the Sheriff Principal, Sir John Auychmoutie, holds courts of justice.

He left sons George, Robert, Thomas and daughters Marion and Sibilla.
