Leonard "Len" Prisley was born 08 Apr 1879 at Reeve Street, Bloxwich, Walsall, England, the son of James Prisley and Elizabeth Crane; [1][2] and was christened 08 May 1887 at Saint Mary the Virgin Church, Eccleston, Lancashire, England. [3] He immigrated with his family to Rhode Island as a youth in 1887 [4] and became a naturalized U.S. citizen on 07 Dec 1918. [5]
In 1900, Len resided in North Haven, Connecticut and worked as a glue maker, [6] which had been his father's trade.
Leonard married on 21 Nov 1905 in North Haven, Connecticut to Glenna Bigelow. [7] Their eldest child was born in Rhode Island, but the rest were born in New Haven, Connecticut where Len and Glenna had settled. [8][9][10][11]

Len resided on Montowese Avenue in North Haven and worked as a foreman at a fat rendering and fertilizer plant when he registered for the World War I draft in 1918 at the age of 39; [12] and he became a naturalized U.S. citizen on 07 Dec 1918 at New Haven, Connecticut. [13][14]
And by 1942, at the age of 63, Len resided on Lewis Road, Winchester, Massachusetts when he registered for the WW II draft. [15]
Glenna died in 1949 and Len married second in 1949 to Eva Luella (Hovey) Boyd. Leonard passed away on 24 Jul 1955 at Boston, Massachusetts [16] and was buried at Beaverdale Memorial Park in New Haven, Connecticut. [17]
