Hello & Welcome, to WikiTree! We're growing a FREE worldwide family tree, striving for ONE collaborative profile per person.
"Sources are critically important for genealogy. Some even say that genealogy without sources is mythology. Even if you're just a casual family historian recording modern family history, you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from."
Feel free to ask questions at our G2G forum. Also, our help pages menu, top right, has some very useful information.
Our Honor Code is why our community is such a friendly place to grow your family tree, so please take some time to read it. Want to join us? Check the volunteer box and leave a brief comment about your genealogical journey. Happy researching - Patt
Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles.
It looks like Texas Project, Maryland Project, or US Southern Colonies Project - "Southern_Colonies", leader is Paula J. would be a good fit with the tag you entered.
If you visit the projects, then join one or 2, and add the tags for the project to help you get updates about activity for that project.
Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

How are you? I'm Shirley, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.
How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.
If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info. Do you have Royal Ancestors? Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.
And I'm here to help too, just ask!

Thank you for signing the Honor code. Collabaration, accurate information and good sources are the basis for a great WikiTree.

Options for getting started:
Key Concepts:
1. Sourcing makes the difference between genealogy and mythology.
2. In order to build one collaborative tree, each person must have only ONE profile.
Let me or another Mentor Team member know if you have questions.

a. To convey information I have to the next generation, and to other interested parties, in a convenient format.
b. To clear up existing misinformation or incomplete information.
c. To stimulate the release of new information from others.
I agree with the mission and honor code of Wikitree.
